Fans Wonder Whether Shedeur Sanders Is Channeling Tom Brady with New No. 12

The number 12 has a lot of significance in American football, and for Sanders, as seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady famously donned it. The former quarterback has also been a mentor to the newly added Browns rookie quarterback.

While Sanders’ usual jersey number 2 was already taken by receiver DeAndre Carter, this seems to be another logical choice for the player.

Meanwhile, the fans had many hilarious reactions under Brown’s jersey number announcement post.

“TB 12 Influenced?!” one user joked.

Other accounts, such as DraftKings and FanDuel, also chimed in on the fun.

FanDuel’s post featured a meme jokingly saying Sanders attempted to buy his old No. 2 off of Carter.

Sanders wasn’t without criticism. One user stated that “12” signifies the number of passes he’ll make before being considered a “bust.”
