Breaking Down the Slate: What to Look for in 2025?
The Chanticleers’ 2025 schedule is a nicely balanced mix of non-conference and Sun Belt games with a mix of challenges and opportunities. The opener against Virginia on Aug. 30 gets things rolling, presenting an early challenge against an ACC opponent.
Back at home, Coastal Carolina welcomes Charleston Southern and East Carolina, hoping to ride home-field advantage and generate some momentum.
Getting into conference action, the Chanticleers face a stretch of games that will be determinative. A road game at South Alabama and a road game at Old Dominion will test the team’s mettle, and home games with ULM and Marshall provide opportunities to make oneself the best in the conference.
A Thursday night showdown at Marshall on Oct. 30 will be one of the best games of the year.
The latter half of the schedule becomes intense with must-win games at Georgia State and Georgia Southern, both of which are Sun Belt games. A challenging non-conference game at South Carolina on Nov. 22 gives the Chanticleers a chance to prove themselves against an SEC opponent.
The season ends with a home game at James Madison, a game that has good postseason potential.
Third-year head coach Beck adds stability and experience to the program. The addition of offensive coordinator Drew Hollingshead and defensive coordinator Jeremiah Johnson introduces views on both sides of the ball. These roster moves should increase team performance and play flexibility during the season.
Coastal Carolina’s Sun Belt championship hopes are banking on a mix of veteran leadership, astute coaching, and a skilled roster. The way the team plays in games against power conference foes, especially against quality foes such as App State and Georgia Southern, will do much to determine whether they have any chance at the championship.
The offense of the Chanticleers, led by offensive coordinator Drew Hollingshead, will be dynamic and multi-dimensional. On defense, the team is seeking to fortify its position with defensive coordinator Jeremiah Johnson’s experience, targeting toughness against varied offensive systems.
The 2025 season also entails new additions by way of fresh talent in transfers and recruits that bring depth and competition to the team. Bringing in new talent is forecast to complement the already established core to create a competitive atmosphere that promises growth and prosperity.
The 2025 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers football season will be a roller-coaster ride of strategic games, rising stars, and chasing conference titles. The Chanticleers sport a tough schedule and a team eager to shine, and will captivate fans and leave a mark on the Sun Belt Conference.
