The Baltimore Ravens have officially released all-time NFL great kicker Justin Tucker. Tucker ranks 12th in all-time field goals made and first in all-time field goal percentage.
That kind of production will be hard to replace in Baltimore, but the Ravens did just select Tyler Loop in the 2025 NFL Draft, so the question is: Can Loop fill Tucker’s shoes?

Can Tyler Loop Replace Justin Tucker?
In a statement today, the Ravens Brass announced that Tucker will no longer be on the team.

From the announcement, it can be inferred that the Ravens will be moving forward with sixth-round draft pick Tyler Loop at the kicker position.
Loop had a fantastic career with the Arizona Wildcats. In his first season starting for Arizona, he had an impressive 100% field goal percentage. That number dropped to 83% total in his career, which is still an excellent mark.
Loop is not only accurate but also has a big leg, hitting a career-long of 62 yards last season. So, he’s clearly talented, but will it be enough to replace Tucker?
The short answer is probably not, as no kicker will ever rival Tucker’s elite accuracy. But the fact of the matter is, Tucker showed some major regression in 2024. He only hit 22 of 30 field goals last season, which was good for 73.3%, the lowest mark of his career by over ten percent.

If Tucker continued to regress in 2025, the Ravens would have struggled big time. The Ravens’ front office clearly felt that was something they couldn’t afford, and the decision was made because of it.
So, while Loop likely will not be as legendary or historically good as Tucker has been, I think there’s a real chance that he’s more accurate and productive than the 2024 version of Tucker, and that’s what the Ravens are searching for.
