Jaden Rashada has finally revealed the reason behind his Georgia Bulldogs’ exit. The American college football player has also spoken up on why he provided his commitment to Sacramento State over other major offers.
Rumors about his move spread last month when it was reported that the former four-star recruit found a new home after entering the transfer portal. Later, it was revealed in a joint statement with new head coach Brennan Marion that the player had chosen the team.

“It was a lot to figure out, honestly,” Rashada said while talking to CBS Sports. “This move had to be pretty critical and intentional. … I was more picky this time around. I had more pure intentions of what I wanted to get out of it.”

Rashada also mentioned that he “missed the game” he loves. He further said that football is something he has been playing since he “was a kid,” while stating that he “missed playing the game.” he said, “I wanted to play for a head coach who had my back and had a plan for me.”
Rashada hails from Pittsburg, California. The quarterback transferred to IMG Academy before making his California return and playing at Pittsburg High School. At Pittsburg, he recorded 2,200 passing yards with 27 touchdowns as a junior. During his senior season, he registered 3,055 yards and 32 scores.
Rashada kicked off his college football career in 2023 with Arizona State, where he was a starter in the first two games of the season. The player completed 44 of 82 passes for 485 yards with four touchdowns. He was redshirted just after playing three games for the program.

Following his freshman season with Arizona State, Rashada did not play a single game for the Bulldogs. A report in ESPN states that he had initially agreed to play for Miami following his prep days at Pittsburg. However, the 6’5″ quarterback signed a letter of intent to play for the Florida Gators. He didn’t play for Florida, either.
