5 Game-Changing Transfers Still on the Board After Portal Deadline

Much like the NFL’s free agency period, the college football transfer window is important for teams looking to add veteran pieces en route to hopefully creating a champion team.

Right now, there are still plenty of talented players in the portal without a team.

Top Uncommitted College Football Transfers Still Available After Spring Window Closes

A recent article from CBS Sports has illustrated the nation’s best remaining players still sitting in the transfer portal.

However, these are the five biggest names that are still without a team:

    Emmanuel Karnely, CB

Rated as the 13th-best cornerback in the nation via 247 Sports, Karnley is one of the best shutdown corners in the nation.

After originally committing to Miami in December, he entered the portal in the hopes of looking for a better spot. As a freshman at Arizona in 2024, the California native recorded 16 total tackles and five pass deflections.

    TJ Ferguson, OL

Rated as the 14th-best interior offensive lineman by 247 Sports, Ferguson could be a great asset for any team that is looking to pound the rock.

After starting seven games for the Florida State Seminoles, he is looking to find a better option for his talents.

    A.J. Haulcy, DB

Haulcy, who predominantly plays safety (rated as the 6th-best safety by 247 Sports), is one of the most versatile players remaining in the transfer portal.

After earning All-Big 12 honors after posting a conference-leading five interceptions last year for the Houston Cougars, he will likely command a solid market as the days move forward.

    Noah King, DB

King falls right behind Haulcy on the list of top safeties remaining in the portal.

After recording 41 total tackles and four pass deflections for the Kansas State Wildcats, King is looking to take advantage of his opportunity to join a contender while getting paid. Time will tell where he will end up.

    Mark Hamper, WR

The Wisconsin transfer is the top-rated wide receiver still in the portal, per CBS Sports.
