Division II college football star Trevon Tate is making a name for himself at Clarion University in Pennsylvania. The veteran wide receiver could be looking to make the step up to Division I and has some impressive potential suitors.

Trevon Tate Drawing Power Four Interest After 1,100-Yard D-II Season
After recording over 1,100 receiving yards and five touchdowns on 65 receptions last season, Tate has already been noticed by a few schools.
According to Nilson Sports founder and CEO Michael Salvo, Tate is being considered by Stanford, Pittsburgh, Kent State, and Arkansas State.

If Tate wants to play in a major conference, he could jump to the ACC by joining Stanford or Pittsburgh.
While Clarion is right down the road from Pittsburgh, perhaps he hopes to join the Panthers for the fall. After averaging 17.5 yards per reception and earning All-American honors in 2024, now might be as good a time as any to take the step up.
If Tate hopes to gain attention from NFL scouts, a move to Power Four football would certainly help.
The Stanford Cardinal are trying to find their footing after Andrew Luck took over as the program’s new general manager. Could they be looking to make a splash move to give the offense under interim head coach Frank Reich some juice?

Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Panthers tend to be a very formidable opponent in the ACC on a yearly basis. They most recently won the ACC in 2021 and are looking to make a splash in a conference without many dominant programs. Could the addition of Tate get them closer to that conference title once again?
Of course, if his other options don’t align with his goals, he could decide to attend Group of Five programs, Arkansas State or Kent State.
