Five-star quarterback Dia Bell, a Texas commit, is one of the best high school players in the country, let alone the state of Florida. Part of that is due to the impressive athletic genes in his family.

5-Star QB Dia Bell’s Father Is Former NBA Player Raja Bell
While Dia Bell is making his name on the gridiron, his father was the one who made his name on the hardwood.
That father is none other than former NBA star Raja Bell, who played 12 seasons in the league. A former All-NBA defender, Bell certainly passed down some of his athletic traits to his son, who won the Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Florida last season.
He threw for 2,597 yards and 29 touchdowns while completing over 71% of his passes. The No. 4 quarterback in the nation, per 247 Sports, Bell is set up for plenty of success in Austin with head coach Steve Sarkisian.
Dia Bell To Join Texas
The Plantation, Florida native is set to join a talented Texas team in 2026. However, he will have to sit behind Arch Manning for at least one season, as the NFL will only allow players to declare for the draft after their junior season.
Bell’s dual-threat capabilities will allow him to mold his college game after Manning. While Manning is heavier and a couple of inches taller, both share the same traits that can put stress on defenses.
Also, the chances are high that both will be set up for success for the rest of their college days, and possibly, in the NFL. For Bell specifically, his high school days in Florida will have prepared him for life in the SEC, which is not always easy.
He will also potentially battle for the starting job in 2026 with Trey Owens, a redshirt freshman. With all of that being said, Texas is in good hands at quarterback for the foreseeable future.
