Ohio State Adds Justin Terry After NFL Draft Losses Shake Up Offensive Line

The Ohio State Buckeyes lost some serious stars to the 2025 NFL Draft. However, they made a big surprise portal move as they landed offensive tackle Justin Terry from West Virginia. Saturday was a big day for Ohio State as quite a few former Buckeyes saw their NFL careers come to life on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft.

However, back in Columbus, the current staff was working the transfer portal, looking for potential replacements for all they lost. Since Tyler Bowen became the offensive line coach for the Buckeyes after he came over from Virginia Tech, the additions have been aggressive along the front seven.

Ohio State lost Josh Simmons, Donovan Jackson, Seth McLaughlin, and Josh Fryar from the starting offensive line from their National Championship team. Since then, they added transfer Phillip Daniels and Ethan Onianwa in the winter portal. Now, Ohio state has an addition for the unit in the spring portal, Terry.

Columbus area native, OT Justin Terry, took to X, formerly Twitter, on Saturday afternoon to announce that he was coming back home to join the Buckeyes. Terry was a three-star recruit out of Pickerington Central High School and held 10 offers. Despite the Buckeyes not offering him out of high school, they’ve now brought him in as depth.

Terry is a very large offensive lineman. He stands at 6-foot-5, weighing 338 pounds. He gives the Buckeyes another depth option at tackle where they were a bit short. Onianwa and Daniels are the expected starters, but nothing is official yet.

Ian Moore and Deontae Armstrong are backups for the Buckeyes. After that, it’s freshmen Carter Lowe and Jayvon McFadden.

While Terry may not have been heavily recruited out of high school, he now has a chance to show that he should have been with Ohio State.

This isn’t a move that was talked about for the Buckeyes making, but bringing in a Columbus native will sit well with Buckeye nation. Terry joins DE Beau Atkinson as the two transfer portal additions for Ohio State this spring.
