Oklahoma State continues to bolster its roster through the transfer portal, securing the commitment of Christian Coleman, a talented forward from UAB. The 6-foot-8, 205-pound big man announced his decision to join the Cowboys after a breakout season in which he averaged 11.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game for the Blazers.
Coleman’s addition is a major boost for Oklahoma State, bringing much-needed size, experience and scoring ability to their frontcourt. With Coleman’s size and knack for finding the ball around the rim, the Cowboys are building a team capable of competing in a deep Big 12 Conference.

Coleman’s Journey: From JUCO to UAB to Oklahoma State
Before making a name for himself at UAB, Coleman carved out his path in junior college. At South Plains College, he was a dominant force, averaging 16 points, eight rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per game.
That JUCO success paved the way for his move to UAB, where he initially put up 7.7 points and 4.5 rebounds per game as a junior while shooting an efficient 55% from the field.
In his senior year, Coleman took a massive leap. Not only did he boost his averages, but he also delivered when it mattered most. He recorded six double-doubles throughout the season, including standout performances like a 25-point, 11-rebound outing against Alabama A&M and a 21-point, 14-rebound effort in the NIT against UC Irvine.
During UAB’s NIT run, Coleman averaged an impressive 19 points and nine rebounds over three games, showcasing his ability to step up under pressure.
While Coleman excels inside the arc, he avoided the three-point line almost entirely, attempting just one three all season and missing it. His game is built around physicality, smart post moves and relentless rebounding, making him a perfect fit for a team needing toughness and consistency down low.
Christian Coleman gives Oklahoma State a veteran presence who knows how to produce. His efficient scoring, rebounding instincts and versatility will be invaluable for a team looking to climb back into national relevance. His ability to perform in big games and contribute immediately makes him one of the more underrated pickups of the transfer portal cycle.
As the Cowboys look ahead to the 2025-26 season, adding players like Coleman who can impact the game on both ends of the floor is crucial.
