Over the past couple of years, there has been a massive influx of young European talent to college basketball, including many players coming to the U.S. having played in the European pro leagues for a few years prior.
Antonio Dorn is the latest international player to enter college football. The 7-foot center from a German second-tier team has decided to bring his talents to the NCAA.

Antonio Dorn Commits to Virginia Tech
Virginia Tech is the latest NCAA team to welcome an international prospect as they have landed a commitment from German center Antonio Dorn.
Dorn is an exciting prospect who brings unique professional experience that should have him more than ready to come in and immediately make an impact for the Hokies. The 7’0″center comes to Virginia Tech from German second-tier team Kircheim, where he averaged 9.1 points and 4.5 rebounds in 18.3 minutes per game while shooting an incredible 67.5% from the field last season.
His size and frame will allow Virginia Tech to add more versatility to defend against bigger opponents. Given his impressive shooting efficiency, he also appears to be an advanced interior scorer.
Having secured Dorn’s commitment, the Hokies’ focus in the transfer portal certainly shifts to the wing and the backcourt while adding further depth up and down the roster as a whole. With Dorn’s addition, Virginia Tech now has five roster spots still open.
Virginia Tech has rebuilt a depleted roster well with Delaware guard Izaiah Pash and West Virginia forward Amani Hansberry already committing to the Hokies.
Hansberry is rated as the No. 72 overall player in the transfer portal and a four-star transfer prospect. He was also highly rated coming out of high school, ranking as the No. 61 overall prospect in the country, the No. 14 power forward in the country, and the No. 1 player in the state of Maryland.

Last season, Delaware’s Pasha averaged 11.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, shooting 51.7% from the field. He was named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Year. He also had an impressive showing at the conference tournament, where Delaware reached the finals despite being the No. 12 seed.
