Jayden Higgins’ NFL Draft Scouting Report

Jayden Higgins is a wide receiver known for his impressive size and reliable hands. After transferring from Eastern Kentucky to Iowa State, he recorded 87 receptions for 1,183 yards and nine touchdowns in the 2024 season, earning second-team All-Big 12 honors.

Higgins excels in contested catch situations, utilizing his frame to shield defenders and secure the ball effectively.

He’s also a stellar overall athlete at 6’4″, 213 pounds, with eye-catching explosiveness and seam-stretching strides. On tape, Higgins has enough nuance and foot speed to separate on more rudimentary routes, but his lacking hip sink and flexibility does limit his route variance and consistency against press.

As a movement-Z or big-slot receiver, he can make his money with strong hands, chain-moving conversion, and explosive RAC.

    Jayden Higgins’ NFL Draft Projection

In CSN’s 7-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft from April 12, Higgins landed in Round 2 with the 40th  overall pick. James Fragoza had this to say:

Not too dissimilar to Tetairoa McMillan, Jayden Higgins (6’4″, 214 pounds) isn’t just a big-bodied target on the outside. He moves well and separates at a higher clip than most skywalkers do at the collegiate level.

And in CSN’s recent 2025 NFL Mock Draft for Day 2, Bjorn Bergstrom had this to say about Higgins’ selection to the Tennessee Titans in Round 2 with the 35th pick:

With the selection of QB Cam Ward at No. 1, the Titans add a big target for their new QB with their first pick in the second round. Higgins, at 6’4″ and 218 pounds, is no slouch in terms of speed; he surprised by running a 4.47 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.

Higgins caught 87 passes for 1,183 yards for the Cyclones in 2024, solidifying himself at the top of the second tier of receivers in this draft. Head coach Brian Callahan, whose specialty lies offensively, gets two building blocks for the future in Tennessee in the first two days of the draft.
