The name Shedeur Sanders has been ringing bells around the football world for the last few months. The star quarterback was projected to be a first-round pick but surprisingly fell out of the first round on Day 1, although he is very likely to be selected on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Sanders is quite accurate at slinging rocks on the field, but football isn’t the only thing he’s good at. Son of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, Shedeur also has a blooming career as a rapper. Some people think it’s a fallback plan for him if football doesn’t work out, but for Shedeur, music is more than a hobby.

From QB to Rap Star: How Shedeur Sanders Is Making Noise Beyond the Field.
While Shedeur is quite the enigma with the ball in his hand on the field, he is causing a stir off the field with a mic in his hand.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, he made a bold claim about his potential in the music industry, saying that if he pursued it seriously, he’d be a No. 1 pick, just like in football.
Shedeur isn’t the first Sanders to dabble in music, as his father Deion once had a record deal and a hit single, “Must Be the Money.”
Sanders released a single titled “Perfect Timing” that references a custom $70,000 watch and a car he bought for himself with money made from his NIL deals. He performed his track live at Colorado’s spring game in 2024, and it was also played at Madison Square Garden when he was introduced during Heisman weekend.
When asked if he’d work with his dad on a song, Shedeur replied, “My dad, he hasn’t earned my respect in the music world enough yet to get a feature from me,” Shedeur said. “He’s got to pay me to get on my song.”
“Perfect Timing” also became Sanders’ theme music during the 2024-25 college football season. Every time he was involved in a touchdown for Colorado, it was blasted over the loudspeaker at Folsom Field. He followed his first single with “Life,” which isn’t available on streaming platforms yet.

While Deion Sanders played two sports and was also a two-way player in the NFL, Shedeur’s dual identity cuts across different artistry. He’s a quarterback and a rapper, highlighting versatility and ambition.
