The 2025 NFL Draft is upon us, and so is your need to be prepared for all of tomorrow’s stars. Dive into our spotlight on Omarion Hampton, featuring his scouting report, strengths and weaknesses, his recent draft projection, and where all the experts predict he could land.

Omarion Hampton’s NFL Draft Scouting Report
Jeanty is the most heavily marketed Round 1 RB in the 2025 NFL Draft, but there’s another player who should hear his name called within the first 32 picks in a just world: North Carolina’s Omarion Hampton.
Having amassed 3,164 yards and 30 touchdowns over the past two seasons, Hampton has the tools to be an impact starter as a volume back in the NFL. At 6’0″, 221 pounds, his size and physicality stand out as separating traits, but he brings even more to the table.
Hampton’s speed and burst, when he’s able to find a hole, is borderline special for his size, and he has the vision and spatial awareness to tempo his runs and create second-level windows with his footwork. Additionally, while he’s not as productive as others in the receiving phase, he undoubtedly has enough in his tool box to take short passes for RAC.
Omarion Hampton’s NFL Draft Projection
In CSN’s 7-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft from April 12, Hampton landed in Round 1 with the 20th overall pick. James Fragoza has this to say:
Much like the Bears, the Broncos are in a position to secure a top-tier running back in the first round and cash in on the benefits. Despite what many analysts claim, Omarion Hampton isn’t as far behind Jeanty as suggested. With his agile footwork, lower-body explosiveness, and strong college production, he certainly warrants a Day 1 selection.
And in CSN’s recent 3-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, Brian Burden had this to say about Hampton’s selection to the San Francisco’s in Round 2 with the 33rd pick:
After adding Swiss Army knife Hunter with the second pick of this 2025 NFL Mock Draft, the Browns need to address what is quickly becoming a glaring hole at the running back position. Nick Chubb has only played in games and rushed for just over 500 yards combined over the last two seasons.
Omarion Hampton, who has rushed for more than 3,100 yards and 30 touchdowns over the past two seasons with the Tar Heels, is an easy pick here.
