The 2025 NFL draft is finally here, and over 200 players will have their football dreams come true when their name is called across seven rounds in three days. While hundreds of prospects will anxiously await a call from home, a select group of players will get to walk across the draft stage once they are selected.
There are a couple of standout prospects in this year’s draft, including Miami’s Cam Ward, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter duo, and Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart. The NFL made it a point this year to only invite sure first-round prospects to attend the draft in person, but some of those projected first-round picks are skipping the event.

Jaxson Dart’s Attendance Raises Questions Ahead of Draft
Jaxson Dart is expected to be the third signal caller that’ll be taken off the board after projected number one overall pick, Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders. But Dart’s draft projection is being called into after the Ole Miss quarterback decided not to attend this year’s event.
“I’m gonna do it back home in Utah,” said Dart. “I just felt like, for me, I have a big family; I have a lot of people who have supported me along this journey. Green Bay is not the easiest place to get to, so I wanted to have all my people there, everyone in my corner.”
Dart finished his collegiate career as the school’s all-time leader in total offense, while helping guide the Rebels to a 21-5 record over his final two seasons. In his final season with Ole Miss, he passed for 4279 yards, 29 touchdowns, and just six interceptions.
There are rumors that the New Orleans Saints could potentially draft a quarterback and that Dart could be an option for the franchise. Dart is also an option for the Pittsburgh Steelers at number 21, as they are predicted to pick a quarterback.

While Dart’s absence from the draft does not necessarily prevent him from being selected in the first round, it stands to reason that he may fall down the board a bit and maybe to the middle of the second round.
