Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has had an incredible effect on the team since arriving two seasons ago. He has helped turn the program around from a team that was viewed at the time as one of the worst in the Power Four. While Coach Prime has helped turn the team around on the field, he has also had a big effect on the community. He often takes time to interact with fans, including the most loyal among them.
It is hard to argue that Peggy Coppom, also known as Miss Peggy, is the most loyal Colorado Buffaloes fan in the world. She has been a huge supporter of Colorado athletics for more than eight decades. She has rarely missed a game since 1939 and has been a season ticket holder since 1966.
Miss Peggy turned 100 years old in November, and Deion Sanders, who is worth $60 million, promised last season he would lead the Buffaloes to a bowl game for her. However, while giving a speech on Friday, he upped the ante for the 2025 season, saying the goal is now to win a bowl game for her.
“Last year, the goal was to get Miss Peggy to a bowl game,” Deion Sanders said. “Yeah, that was the goal. We did that, but when I’m talking to God, he told me I got to be more specific. So, this year, we want to get Miss Peggy to a bowl game and win.”

Deion Sanders Spoke Last Year About What Miss Peggy Means to the Colorado Buffaloes
As one of the most loyal superfans in college football, Miss Peggy means a lot to Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes. Last year, Coach Prime spoke about what she means to the team and how the team tries to win for her.
“Miss Peggy in her own tremendous, loving way, she gives all of us hope,” Deion Sanders said. “She gives all of us that unspeakable joy. That love. That respect. You know how many decades we are apart but we still found one another? I thank God for that. Just the little things she whispers. That’s the remembrance of certain little things that she may say. Her asking me about my mother.”
Deion Sanders is now trying to help the Buffaloes win a bowl game for her. While they qualified for the Alamo Bowl last year, they have not won a bowl game since 2004.
