Army Black Knights RB Kanye Udoh has departed the program to pursue opportunities elsewhere. Where will the true sophomore end up?
Where Will Kanye Udoh Transfer?
Wait, are service academy players allowed to transfer? In short, yes. Students in their freshman and sophomore years are able to transfer out of academies, but once a cadet attends their first day of junior classes, they are locked into the school and their military service commitment.
At 6’0″ and 218 pounds with impressive mobility, Udoh should be a rather hot commodity on the open market. He rushed for 1,117 yards and 10 touchdowns on 179 carries this season after impressing with a 5.1 yards-per-carry average as a true freshman.
However, Udoh bet on himself and entered his name into the portal before his academy deadline.

Udoh has already scheduled visits with several Power Four programs and could announce his commitment shortly after they take place.
West Virginia Mountaineers
The West Virginia Mountaineers were only one of the few Power Four schools that offered Udoh as a high school recruit.
“I’m still very excited that I was able to get the offer, and it really is a blessing,” Udoh said after receiving a scholarship offer from WVU. “It’s a very good program, and it would be amazing to play in the Big 12. Plus, Tavon Austin was my favorite college player.”

Well, the current offensive coordinator and interim head coach, Chad Scott, was Udoh’s lead recruiter at the time and could pitch his services to the new head coach, Rich Rodriguez, assuming he would keep Scott around.
Playing time could be an issue, though, with Jaheim White and C.J. Donaldson on the roster. But the Mountaineers wouldn’t complain about having a three-headed monster in the backfield.
Rutgers Scarlet Knights
If Udoh’s primary goal is to return closer to home, then there are few options better than the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
Not only does the program offer Udoh the opportunity to play in his home state of New Jersey, but they’ve produced back-to-back effective rushers in Isiah Pacheco and Kyle Monangai.
North Carolina Tar Heels
Bill Belichick’s militaristic leadership style shouldn’t be a negative for Udoh for obvious reasons. But more importantly, the North Carolina Tar Heels will be without RB1 Omarion Hampton, who has declared for the NFL.
Udoh has already reportedly set a visit with the program, giving Belichick a chance to secure his services.
Arizona State Sun Devils
The second team Udoh has scheduled a visit with is the Arizona State Sun Devils. HC Kenny Dillingham showcased his propensity to run the ball with star RB Cam Skattebo this season, but the former Sacramento State back is out of eligibility.

Enter Udoh. He wasn’t able to exhibit his pass-catching chops with the Black Knights, but he’s a similar style back to Skattebo, able to churn through contact and force missed tackles in a gap-heavy scheme.
Missouri Tigers
Last but not least, we have the Missouri Tigers. They are actually first on Udoh’s official visit list, but outside of being in the SEC, it’s difficult to see Mizzou higher than the previous five landing spots on Udoh’s list.
Sure, Nate Noel and Marcus Carroll are gone, creating a void on the depth chart. But there is uncertainty at QB with Brady Cook gone, and OC Kerby Moore could leave for a head coach spot as well.
