‘Monster of a Man’ – Fans Jaw Dropped As Ex-Georgia Mykel Williams Spotted Bulldozing in Practice

In the 2025 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers selected edge defender Mykel Williams with their 11th overall pick in the first round. The 49ers knew exactly the type of player they were after, and found it with Williams. Williams is now beginning to practice with the team ahead of what could be a massive rookie season.

The newly drafted rookie class is beginning to settle in with their new teams. The Georgia Bulldogs had 13 players selected in this year’s draft, with their biggest loss arguably coming in Williams. Williams is already turning heads with his practice on the field at camp with the 49ers.

Fans Stunned As Mykel Williams Goes Viral With Violent Practice Hit

In one of his first NFL practices, Mykel Williams is already gaining eyes and turning heads from fans and players alike online. Williams just put someone on the ground in practice, and the internet can’t stop talking about the violent rep.

Williams reported to the team’s rookie mini-camp earlier this week and is already showcasing why the 49ers brought him with his physical skillset. In a few clips that were posted on social media, fans can get a firsthand look at the physical traits that make him such a promising selection for San Francisco.

Although the drill Williams is competing in is much less strenuous than the reps he will be taking in a real game, seeing the first-round draft pick display his ferocious athleticism is surely enough to create a buzz within the 49ers organization.

While an injury in the 2024 season limited Williams’ overall production last season with the Bulldogs, the Georgia presence was felt immediately whenever he came onto the field. Williams’ overall measurables and his ability to rush passers to set edges made him a “poster child” for what NFL scouts are looking for in his position.

“The 49ers are used to playing big guys up front,” a Georgia source told ClutchPoints why the 49ers will pick Williams in the 2025 NFL Draft. “That’s what makes the Eagles defense so good, because they kept everything condensed in the box. The 49ers were doing the same thing before and now with [defensive coordinator Robert Saleh] back, they’ll take the same approach with guys like Mykel.”

This ultimately is the biggest reason why we saw Williams go as high up as he did with the 49ers selection. The 49ers have very high hopes for him, and he could be in the running for Defensive Rookie of the Year before all is said and done in the 2025 NFL season. While we still haven’t seen him in in-game action, he looks like a madman already in practice, which is great news for 49ers fans, and bad news for anyone playing against them.
