4-Star WR Gordon Sellars Puts OSU Among His Final 6

Gordon Sellars, the star wide receiver from Providence Day in North Carolina, is all set to announce his big decision to the world. The 6’2″, 180-pound, 4-star prospect has named his top six schools and set a commitment date that’s just around the corner. Among his finalists, OSU is the newest and one of the most promising additions.

OSU Joins Late-on Gordon Sellars Finalists, but It Still Has a Shot

Sellars will reveal his college choice on April 18, 2025. His final six schools are Ohio State, Clemson, South Carolina, Michigan, Georgia, and North Carolina A&T. This list came together after some last-minute shuffling.

North Carolina dropped out of contention, while Ohio State and NC A&T jumped into the mix. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound pass-catcher is ranked as the No. 211 overall prospect and No. 34 wide receiver in the 2026 class, per the On3 Industry Ranking. In North Carolina, he’s the No. 13 player.

Sellars has been a force on the field. As a junior, he snagged 50 catches for 975 yards and 10 touchdowns. Over three seasons with Providence Day, he’s piled up more than 1,500 receiving yards. His size and stats make him a prime target for top programs. College coaches have taken notice, and his recruitment is heating up.

Ohio State’s entry into the race is fresh. Sellars visited Columbus last weekend and left with an offer from the Buckeyes. That trip was enough to vault OSU into his top six. Meanwhile, South Carolina has long been seen as a frontrunner.

Clemson’s also in the hunt, riding a hot streak with their No. 7-ranked recruiting class. Michigan’s got a shot too, with a visit planned for April 11—just a week before he decides.

Sellars knows what he wants. “I am looking for a great football team, but also great academics because football has to end one day,” he said in December. “I want to be put in a situation where I can focus on both.” He also values the campus vibe and the people. “I want to be at a place where I can feel like myself,” he added.

His official visits are lined up: Clemson on May 30, South Carolina on June 6, Georgia on June 13, and Michigan on June 20. But with his announcement coming first, those trips might not happen.

At Michigan, Sellars likes what he’s seen so far. “I feel like they’ve checked all the boxes right now,” he told The Wolverine earlier this month. “I just want to learn more about the school and the program.” Ohio State’s late push could shake things up, though. We won’t have to wait long to find out where this rising star lands.
