Rising 4-Star QB Hits Shedeur Sanders’ Iconic Celebration With South Carolina HC Shane Beamer During Official Visit

Official visit season is underway, with some of the top players in the 2026 recruiting class visiting the best schools in the country as programs battle it out to win their recruitments.

On official visits, we see coaches do all sorts of things to land recruits. I’ve seen coaches dance (you all remember that Brian Kelly video from a couple of years ago), do karaoke, and even jump in pools to convince players to come to their school. It’s no different for South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer, who hit an iconic celebration with a four-star quarterback recruit.

Shane Beamer and 4-Star QB Hit the Shedeur Sanders During Official Visit

If you watched college football for the past few seasons, you’ve seen the “Perfect Timing” celebration from former Colorado Buffalo quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who would flex his watch.

The move took the world by storm, with other college and high school athletes doing it all year long.

Although Sanders may have left college football, his celebration is apparently still going strong as four-star QB recruit Landon Duckworth hit the move with Beamer during his official visit.

While it may seem like a silly thing for Beamer to do, coaches have to do everything in their power to land top recruits, and Duckworth would be a major addition for the Gamecocks.

Duckworth is ranked as On3’s 61st-best player in the 2026 recruiting class and the 6th-best quarterback in the country.

He committed to South Carolina back in 2023, before decommitting and reopening his recruitment in June of last year.

Since then, Duckworth has racked up offers from schools like Ole Miss, Georgia, Auburn, Florida State, and Florida, and his recruitment is very competitive.

The young signal-caller has had a very busy spring, taking OVs to Auburn and Georgia back in May, before arriving in South Carolina over the weekend. After this weekend, Duckworth will travel to Florida State and then to Ole Miss. After he wraps up his official visit cycle, Duckworth should make his final decision on where he’ll play his college football.

Despite decommitting from South Carolina, the Gamecocks still seem to be the team to beat in terms of his recruitment, and On3 gives them an 80% chance to land the four-star, while 247Sports has it as a 50-50 split between SC and Ole Miss.

While Duckworth did not recommit over the weekend, it’s clear that he and coach Beamer have a strong relationship, and the OV did give us the iconic picture of the two of them.
