Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders and Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward are projected to be the top two QBs taken in the 2025 NFL draft. Although the order in which the two QBs will be taken is unclear, there is no doubt in the eyes of most NFL draft experts that they will be the first two QBs off the board. There is even a chance that one of them could be the first pick in the draft.

Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward Go Back and Forth in an Exchange of Friendly Banter
With Sanders and Ward in direct competition with each other to be the first QB taken in the upcoming draft, it was a surprise to see them practicing together.
However, when Well Off Media posted a video on Tuesday, Feb. 18, that was what fans tuned in to watch. The two star QBs were practicing together, but it was not all smiles. Sanders and Ward went back and forth with each other.
While Sanders was doing a drill, Ward was calling him out for earning a completion percentage award after throwing so many checkdowns.
“They gave you a completion percentage award, but all you did was throw checkdowns, bubble screens. That s**** crazy. If I did that, my completion percentage would be 90%. I throw the ball downfield, you don’t.”
Shedeur Sanders did not take the jabs from Cam Ward without firing back. He told Cam Ward that he only had the opportunity to throw the ball downfield so much because the Miami Hurricanes had a run game, whereas the Colorado Buffaloes did not.
“You ran the ball. You had a run game. You had a run game.”

There are still two months until the 2025 NFL draft, and things are still not clear at the top of the draft. The two QBs appear slated to be top-five picks, as does Penn State Edge Abdul Carter and Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter. However, the order in which the players will be taken is unclear.

The top three teams drafting, the Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, and New York Giants all could be interested in a QB. All of them are in different stages of a rebuild and do not have a QB of the future.
However, the fourth and fifth teams drafting, the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars, have their young stud QBs. So, if they are not taken in those top three picks, there is a chance that Sanders and Ward could fall out of the top five.
