The 2025 NFL Scouting Combine has seen its fair share of impressive performances, but perhaps none more so than the entire group of running backs. With an incredible output from the whole class — specifically in the 40-yard dash — the 2025 Draft RB group has put themselves with illustrious company.

Fastest RB Times at the 2025 NFL Combine
On average, the 2025 NFL Draft running back class ran the 40-yard dash at 4.48 seconds. Per the NFL Network broadcast, that’s the fastest average for the position group since the 2003 NFL Draft.

The running back class, as a whole, dominated the day during the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. Their average speed of 4.48 became the fastest average since the famed 2003 NFL Draft that saw players like Justin Fargas, Lee Suggs, Musa Smith, and Willis McGahee hit under 4.48 seconds.
Each running back also had a terrific showing in the other athleticism drills, some hitting as far as 11’00” in the broad jump or as high as 40.5″ in the vertical jump.
NFL Combine Winners at RB
With a class running as fast and testing as well as this running back class did, it’s safe to assume that the whole group could be classified as a winner. If you had to pick a player or two out of the group, however, a few do indeed stand out.
Tech’s Tuten is the winner of the day and the overall winner of the group, setting positional-best marks of 40.5″ in the vertical and 4.32 in the 40.
Ohio State teammates Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson each won the day as well, but for different reasons. Henderson proved to be the athlete all the fans saw from his freshman season while Judkins proved his athleticism throughout drills and testing.
Judkins leaped to the positional-best mark of 11-flat in the broad as the duo ran identical times of 4.43 seconds in the 40.
UCF’s Harvey and Texas’ Blue also showcased their speed while UNC’s Hampton and Michigan’s Edwards flashed with their explosive testing.
All in all, despite the media indicating a decline at the position, the 2025 NFL Draft RB Class could be set to defy the odds. At a time in which their positional draft value may be dwindling, this class may break the trend.
