    AFCA Announces Nominations for the 2024 Allstate Good Works Team

    The AFCA announced its initial nominees for the 2024 Allstate Good Works Team. What is the team, and who are the 2024 nominees?

    While most of the time fans are focused on what is going on in the field of play, the Allstate Good Works Team recognizes players for their charitable contributions off the field. Wednesday, the AFCA announced the FBS nominations for the 2024 Allstate Good Works Team.

    What is the 2024 Allstate Good Works Team?

    Each year, the Allstate Good Works Team recognizes the players who combine exemplary service off the field with performance and leadership on the field.

    In combination with the team, the Wuerffel Trophy is presented to the one player.

    From the AFCA: “The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy, college football’s premier award for community service, is presented annually to the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) player who best combines exemplary community service with leadership and performance on and off the field.”

    This year 178 nominees will representing every team in the FBS as well as several players from lower divisions will be recognized. At season’s end, the final team of 11 FBS players and 11 FCS and below players will be announced. There will also be one honorary coach from the list of 11 nominees.
