Who Are the Baylor-Colorado Announcers? Everything To Know About the College Football Week 4 Game

The Baylor Bears visit the Colorado Buffaloes for their first Big 12 meeting in 14 years, but who will be the announcers?

One of the more intriguing college football matchups in Week 4 will take place in Boulder, Colo., where the Baylor Bears and Colorado Buffaloes will open Big 12 play.

It will be the 17th all-time meeting between the programs but the first since 2010, when then-Bears quarterback Robert Griffin III accounted for 371 yards of offense in a 31-25 win for the visiting team at Folsom Field. Griffin III would go on to capture Baylor’s first and, to this point only, Heisman Trophy the following season.

Both teams have followed similar early-season timelines this season, with a pair of non-conference wins flanking a mostly forgettable non-conference loss.

With both teams desperate to get off to a strong start in conference play, let’s examine the announcers for this Big 12 showdown.

    Baylor vs. Colorado Game Preview

Folsom Field will host a Big 12 league game for the first time in 14 years on Saturday. Colorado left for the Pac-12 in 2011 before returning to the conference before the start of this season.

The Bears have held the bragging rights over the Buffaloes since that aforementioned 2010 game, though many things have changed since then.

For starters, consider where each team’s current head coach was.

Baylor’s Dave Aranda, now in his fifth season in Waco, was a first-year defensive coordinator at Hawaii in 2010 while Colorado’s Deion Sanders had not yet started coaching and was still one year shy of his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction.

Aranda knows he is bringing his team into a challenging set of circumstances.

“Lot of respect for our opponent. The skill they have, the improved line of scrimmage play, it’s a team that looks like they’re trending up and it’s going to be a tough environment for us,” he said. “Lot of positives for us in this game, too, but it’s going to take our best.”

Dequan Finn, a transfer from Toledo, began the season as Baylor’s starting quarterback before he suffered a shoulder injury in Week 2 that forced him to miss the following week. Junior QB Sawyer Robertson started in place of Finn during the win over Air Force, throwing for 248 yards and rushing for a touchdown.

Finn returned to practice this week, though both names appear at the top of Baylor’s depth chart.

Meanwhile, there is no question about who will start under center for the Buffaloes. That is Coach Prime’s son, Shedeur Sanders, a likely first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

He will look to carry his strong play over from last week’s win at Colorado State where he threw for 310 yards and four scores behind a much-maligned offensive line that only allowed one sack. Sanders will enter Saturday’s contest one completion shy of 1,000 for his Division I career.

Sanders will have his work cut out for him going against this Baylor defense, which has allowed a FBS-best 75.7 passing yards per game so far this season.

Sanders won’t be the only pro prospect on the field Saturday, as his teammate and two-way superstar, Travis Hunter, gets a chance to build off last week’s performance against Colorado State where he earned Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors (five tackles, one pass breakup, one interception). Hunter currently ranks second among FBS receivers in both catches (30) and touchdowns (five).
