Ohio State Fans React to Travis Hunter’s Colorado Pro Day Performance

During Colorado’s Pro Day last year, a video surfaced of the Heisman winner running routes and showing off his jukes, with the caption, “Somehow, this dude won the Biletnikoff over Jeremiah Smith.”

Following this, dozens of fans of the National Champions piled onto the post to slander Travis Hunter, which gave us some hilarious responses.

“Worst routes ever. he literally just jukes like a basketball player.” One fan wrote

“Smith is SIGNIFICANTLY a better WR than Hunter,” another Buckeyes fan claimed underneath the post.

While the Freshman is already regarded as one of the best Wide receivers in College Football, with some claiming he is already NFL-ready, the Ohio State receiver will not be eligible to declare for the NFL Draft until 2027, which gives him two more seasons to win a Blietnikoff award.

When asked by CBS Sports if he was ready for the NFL already, the Freshman suggested that while he may be ready for the Draft, he’s perfectly happy to have two more years of eligibility at the college level.

“I don’t really know how to answer that question. I’m just a freshman, happy to be in college football.” Smith told CBS Sports.

The Buckeyes and Jeremiah Smith are set to kick off their 2025 season with a clash against the Texas Longhorns at the end of August.

How Did Hunter Win the Blietnikoff Award?

Hunter won the Blietnikoff Award last season after having his best individual season on record, with 96 receptions for 1,258 yards, the fourth most out of any Wide receiver in the NCAA, behind Nick Nash, Tetaiora McMillan, and Jeremiah Smith.

In comparison, Ohio State Buckeyes freshman Jeremiah Smith recorded more receiving yards in significantly fewer receptions, going for 76 receptions and 1,315 yards.

Smith did not make it past the Semi-Finals for the Blietnikoff Award, which sparked outrage among Buckeyes fans. The top response to the announcement was, “No Jeremiah Smith means the list isn’t valid.”

NCAA Analyst Ryan Roberts suggested the main reason the Freshman wasn’t considered for the Blietnikoff was due to the spread of talent in the Buckeyes camp, including the likes of Emeka Egbuka.

“It’s going to be one of those years where [are] his numbers gonna be as big as some other guys that are gonna be on that list? No, because he doesn’t have the share of the b-ll with Emeka Egbuka, Carnell Tate and all these dudes”. Roberts suggested on the Locked on Buckeyes podcast.
