The USC Trojans were victorious in their latest game, but doubts remain over the qualities of head coach Lindsay Gottlieb.
USC women’s basketball fans have questioned Gottlieb’s credentials despite the Trojans winning their most recent game. The Trojans beat the Ohio State Buckeyes 84-63 in their matchup at Galen Center on Feb. 9.

Lindsay Gottlieb Under Fire From USC Fans
Despite the win, fans were left unimpressed with Gottlieb, with some questioning her usage of JuJu Watkins. The sophomore guard scored 17 points in addition to 10 rebounds, and three assists against the Buckeyes.
However, a few fans insisted she would have had more points if Gottlieb had used her effectively.
“Lindsay Gottlieb is a horrible coach with good players,” a fan said on X.
“A Lindsay Gottlieb master class. Doesn’t know how to run an offense when your best player is having a bad game. Incompetent in getting other players involved,” another fan posted.
“Lindsay Gottlieb, pls for the love of the game, install a real damn offensive system instead of ‘Juju just go figure it out,'” one fan shared.
The criticism kept coming, with another fan saying the players are masking Gottlieb’s deficiencies as a coach.
“Nothing worse in college basketball right now than coaches who have better players sitting the bench over inferior ones in the starting lineup no matter how obvious the answer is game after game. Dawn Staley & Lindsay Gottlieb – I’m looking at both of you,” another fan said.
“USC could dead a** be beat by Ohio State if they’re on some bulls**t. KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND STAND UP LINDSAY! 😤”, one more fan posted.
Gottlieb Can Silence Critics
The criticism of Gottlieb is a strange one, considering her team is 21-2 this season and is second in the Big Ten only behind the UCLA Bruins, who are the No. 1 overall ranked team in the country right now.
Also, Watkins has played well under Gottlieb’s leadership this season, with the 6-foot-2 guard averaging 23.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.

The Trojans are also ranked seventh in the overall rankings and are on a two-game winning streak. However, the good news for Gottlieb is that she can finally silence her critics as the Trojans face the Bruins next on Feb. 14.
A win against the No. 1 ranked team in the country will definitely take the critics off her back, at least for a while.
