Bueckers made an immediate impact as a freshman, sweeping all major national player of the year honors and leading the Huskies to the Final Four. Injuries slowed her sophomore season, but she bounced back stronger, earning three All-American selections and winning the 2024 Naismith Player of the Year and 2025 Big East Player of the Year.

She finished with 2,405 points (fifth in UConn history), set the school record for career assists (870), and scored a single-season record 766 points in her final year. From her 40-point Elite Eight performance to guiding UConn to a national title in 2025, Bueckers’ legacy is cemented among legends like Diana Taurasi and Breanna Stewart.

After shocking the basketball world last year by announcing she would return to UConn for her senior season,  Bueckers fulfilled her mission in the most meaningful way—by delivering a national championship.

Many expected her to declare for the WNBA Draft in 2024, but her decision to stay showed her commitment to finishing what she started.

On her Instagram story, Bueckers shared moments from UConn’s championship parade. She smiled with teammates and held the trophy high—a full-circle moment that captured the joy of completing the journey on her own terms.

For Bueckers, staying one more year wasn’t just about basketball—it was about legacy, leadership, and leaving UConn on top.

Bueckers didn’t waste any time heading to New York after the championship parade, quickly shifting her focus to the next chapter.
