After a tough loss to UConn, the South Carolina Gamecocks wasted no time making a statement. MiLaysia Fulwiley led the way with 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists, delivering highlight-worthy plays throughout the game.

MiLaysia Fulwiley on Rebounding After UConn Loss
Fulwiley put on a show with multiple difficult shots and an alley-oop layup to end the first half. In the post-game press conference, she reflected on the team’s ability to bounce back.
“It feels great. I mean, when you get beat like that, it’s always good to just come back up and be ready and be focused for the next game, and I feel like that’s exactly what we did, and me as well,” Fulwiley said. “I feel like I didn’t really think about the game. I didn’t think about our last game.”
“I really just focused on this game, and that kind of helped me go out there and do what I was able to do,” she added. “And I like when I make shots. It makes me happy, so that’s why I smile.”

Fulwiley’s Historic Shoe Deal with Curry Brand
Fulwiley made history last spring by becoming one of the few female collegiate athletes to sign with a major shoe brand. She became the first college player to join Steph Curry’s Under Armour-backed Curry Brand, releasing her own edition of the Curry 12s, named the FamLAY.
During NBA All-Star Weekend, Curry spoke about why his brand signed Fulwiley.
“MiLaysia, the way she carries herself–obviously as a basketball player–but on and off the court, we see a lot of potential in her,” Curry told NBC Sports’ Natalie Esquire. “She believes in what we’re doing.”

Fulwiley has long had ties to Curry, having attended his camps and played for Team Curry AAU in high school. Her skill set and determination caught his attention early, and she has only continued to impress since.

“Obviously, [she’s] at South Carolina, doing amazing things–winning a championship in her freshman year–and trying to continue to get better and keep pushing the envelope on what she can accomplish in her career,” Curry said.
Beyond her talent, Fulwiley’s work ethic and leadership made her an ideal fit for the brand. Curry Brand selects athletes who excel both on and off the court, and Fulwiley continues to prove she belongs among the best.
