Dawn Staley Explains Why  MiLaysia Fulwiley Is a ‘Pro’

South Carolina’s sophomore guard, MiLaysia Fulwiley, is a “pro,” according to Staley. Staley made the revelation following the Gamecocks’ 82-54 win over Vanderbilt on Sunday.

For Staley, Fulwiley has “talent, speed, and athleticism” and only needs to learn how to handle certain situations in order to take her game to the elite level.

“How do you handle starting or not starting? So it’s all those things that we’re adding to what she already has brought to us because, ultimately, she wants to be a pro. And if she wants to be a pro, there are things that we have to add. We’re not trying to take anything away from her. We just want to add to what she already, what she already brought to us,” she said.

The South Carolina coach also added that the sophomore guard was much quicker than she was during her playing years in terms of her boldness to make the shots.
