Where Is ESPN College GameDay in Week 8? Location, Guest Picker, and More

Where is the College Gameday location for college football Week 8, and who will be the guest picker on ESPN's flagship Saturday morning show?

A Saturday institution since 1987, ESPN’s “College GameDay” has become a tradition ingrained within college football, a roving college football circus “Comin’ to your City” for three hours every game day morning, and it’s back for the 2024 college campaign.

The long-running Saturday morning football staple has visited Dublin, College Station, Ann Arbor, Columbia, Norman, Tuscaloosa, Berkeley, and Eugene this season, but what is the location for College Gameday in Week 8?

Here’s all the information on the College GameDay location and guest picker for Week 8 of the 2024 college football season.

As comfortably the marquee matchup of the Week 8 slate, it’s no surprise that ESPN has chosen Austin as the College GameDay location for the coming weekend. The Saturday morning showcase will travel to the Lone Star State as the Texas Longhorns and Georgia Bulldogs prepare for a game with season-defining implications — both in the SEC and for the CFB Playoff.

Texas enters the game as the number-one team in the nation after effortlessly moving to 6-0 during their first campaign in the SEC. Steve Sarkisian’s team has been imperious in 2024, giving up no more than 13 points in a single game and scoring over 30 in every matchup so far this year. College Football Network’s Football Playoff Meter gives the Longhorns a 52.1% chance of taking home the conference crown at the first time of asking.

However, Georgia poses the most significant test to the Texas runaway train. Despite a loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide and a substandard showing against the Mississippi State Bulldogs, Kirby Smart’s team can never be ruled out and are at their most dangerous with their backs against the wall. A replication of the second-half showing in Tuscaloosa would be an onslaught unlike anything Texas has faced all season.

Austin is being used as the College GameDay location for the 10th time. The ESPN flagship last visited the home of the Longhorns in November 2022, but Texas has been a regular fixture on the show. The Longhorns have a 12-11 record from their 23 appearances. Meanwhile, Georgia has been less successful as the featured matchup, compiling a 17-20 record.
