A Saturday institution since 1987, ESPN’s “College GameDay” has become a tradition ingrained within college football, a roving college football circus “Comin’ to your City” for three hours every game day morning, and it’s back for the 2024 college campaign.
The long-running Saturday morning football staple has visited Dublin, College Station, Ann Arbor, Columbia, Norman, and Tuscaloosa this season, but what is the location for College Gameday in Week 6?

History will be made in college football Week 6 following ESPN’s announcement that Berkely, CA, will be the College GameDay location. As the college football landscape continuously alters around us, it is fitting that an all-ACC encounter will see the California Golden Bears host the flagship Saturday morning show for the first time in program history.
As with previous trips to the West Coast, ESPN maintains the same 9 a.m. ET start time regardless of the College GameDay location, so Cal fans will have to be up bright and early for festivities with Lee Corso, Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, and Nick Saban which will begin at 6 a.m. PT.

Although there are several alternatives for the College GameDay location in Week 6, the 3-1 Golden Bears welcome the undefeated Miami Hurricanes and quarterback Cam Ward to Berkeley in one of the few games on this week’s slate that has legitimate conference consequences. A defeat for Miami, with Clemson breathing down their neck, would open up the ACC.
While it is the first time Cal has been chosen as the College GameDay location, it isn’t their first appearance as the featured game on the ESPN flagship. This is the Golden Bears’ fourth experience on the show, and they have gone 1-2 in the three previous exposures. Miami, on the other hand, boasts a 15-9 record from their 24 appearances, last featuring in 2020.

The College GameDay guest picker has yet to be revealed. ESPN normally announces the identity of the celebrity set to join the regular cast around 2-3 days before the show airs. In Week 4, the identity of the College GameDay guest picker wasn’t released until late on Thursday night. This section will be updated when more information becomes available.
