Where Is ESPN College GameDay in Week 5? Location and Special Guest Picker Revealed

Where is the College Gameday location for college football Week 4, and who will be the guest picker on ESPN's flagship Saturday morning show?

A Saturday institution since 1987, ESPN’s “College GameDay” has become a tradition ingrained within college football, a roving college football circus “Comin’ to your City” for three hours every game day morning, and it’s back for the 2024 college campaign.

The long-running Saturday morning football staple has visited Dublin, College Station, Ann Arbor, Columbia, and Norman so far this season, but what is the location for College Gameday in Week 5?

Here’s all the information on the College GameDay location and guest picker for Week 5 of the 2024 college football season.

ESPN College GameDay Location for Week 5

    • Location
      Tuscaloosa, Alabama
    • Matchup
      Georgia vs. Alabama
    • Show time
      9 a.m. ET
    • TV Channel
      ESPN/ESPNU

Where else would it be? With ramifications for the SEC title race and the College Football Playoff rankings, Georgia vs. Alabama makes Tuscaloosa the natural ESPN College GameDay in Week 5. While there’s been a heavy SEC presence to the Saturday morning flagship’s location lineup already this fall, there isn’t a bigger game on the schedule this week, perhaps all season.

The choice of Tuscaloosa as the College GameDay location means that Alabama is now tied for the most-ever appearances on the Saturday staple. The Crimson Tide have now hosted 19 editions of the show while being featured 59 times — tied with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Meanwhile, Georgia makes their 37th appearance on College GameDay, tied for the fifth most.

As the two protagonists in one of the SEC’s great modern rivalries, Georgia vs. Alabama being the featured game is no isolated incident. The two teams battled it out in front of College GameDay in December 2023 for the SEC Championship Game, and the ESPN flagship was in Lucas Oil Stadium for Georgia’s triumph in the 2022 National Championship matchup.

Meanwhile, Tuscaloosa has been used as the College GameDay location for the second successive season. Last year, ESPN was in attendance as the eight-ranked Crimson Tide beat LSU, marking their 37th win as the featured team. Alabama has tallied an impressive 37-21 winning record on the show, while Georgia is 17-19 from their 36 previous matchups. Can they win in Week 5?

ESPN College GameDay Guest Picker for Week 5

A special game like Georgia vs. Alabama deserves a special supporting cast, and ESPN announced on Friday afternoon that Terry Saban will be the College GameDay guest picker in Week 5.

Famously known as “Miss Terry,” she will join her husband and legendary Alabama head coach Nick Saban on the set of the ESPN Saturday morning show. While she has been an integral part of Crimson Tide football alongside her longtime spouse, Miss Terry has also been a fundamental fixture in Tuscaloosa, giving back to the community with various philanthropic ventures.

“It has been an incredible run these last 17 years at the University of Alabama and we take with us many amazing memories,” she said on the announcement of her husband’s retirement earlier this year. “We hope that the Saban legacy will be about helping others and making a positive difference in people’s lives as well as the winning tradition on the field.”
