Colorado enters this college football Week 2 clash with a 20-49-2 losing record against the Cornhuskers. Yet, this is not your Grandma’s Buffaloes team. Hell, this isn’t even your slightly older brother’s Colorado outfit. The enigmatic and controversial Sanders has grabbed a hold of Ralphie’s reins and shook up the entire college football landscape since his arrival in December.

While they run a Pac-12 gauntlet that features four currently ranked teams, Colorado showed their shock potential in Week 1 by taking TCU to task in Fort Worth and emerging victorious from a blistering back and forth with last season’s national championship runner-up. Top-tier transfer portal acquisitions, rarely seen recruiting wins; Sanders is transforming Colorado.

Colorado might be a reformed and rejuvenated version of their former selves, but for Nebraska, it might be a case of the same old brand new you. In Rhule’s first game at the helm in Week 1, the ghost of Scott Frost came back to haunt the ‘Huskers as they blew a lead in the fourth quarter and ultimately succumbed to the Minnesota Golden Gophers under the Thursday night lights.

Although they hold the head-to-head advantage historically, Nebraska lost the past two editions of this great rivalry. A defeat here wouldn’t be a disaster, with games against Northern Illinois and Louisiana Tech giving them the potential to take a 2-2 record into the gauntlet of Big Ten play. However, a win would give a much-needed boost to the Rhule era in Lincoln.
