Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders is known for how he carries himself. A former Browns receiver believes he might’ve been better off acting like his older brother, Shilo Sanders.

How Shilo and Shedeur Sanders’ Personalities Could’ve Helped Them Both if Switched
Based on his draft night experience, Shedeur Sanders didn’t make too many friends in the lead-up to his fifth-round selection. Had the now-former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback carried himself more like his defensive back older brother, Shilo, it might not have been the same sort of wait.
Former NFL receiver Andrew Hawkins theorized how things could’ve been different for Shedeur had he toned his confidence down some as he introduced himself to NFL teams.
“I have a theory that if Shilo Sanders and Shedeur Sanders swapped personalities, they both would have been drafted in the first two rounds,” Hawkins said last week on “The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz.” “Because Shedeur has a defensive back’s personality, and you can’t have that at the quarterback position. But he is the closest thing to his father in personality of, ‘Hey, I don’t care about what’s going on. If it ain’t for me, then it ain’t for me. I’m gonna go out there and play.'”

“And when you’re looking for a CEO of a team and in the locker room, that’s a tough personality to have because there’s so many other factors that need to also be at their best for you to be at your best.”
Shilo Sanders went undrafted and landed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If he’d been more outspoken, like Shedeur, he might’ve heard his name called.
“Whereas, as a DB, on an island, my job, we could be down 50-0, and if I stop this guy from catching a ball, I’m him and I’m getting a big contract for it,” Hawkins said. “Not really how the quarterback position works, and I think that demeanor is one thing that hurt Shedeur … about how he’s gone through the process or answered some of the questions the same way you would expect Deion to answer them.”
Perhaps the most glaring example of Shedeur Sanders’ brash nature was shown at the scouting combine in February. He didn’t participate in drills, but did speak to the media.
“We went from Jackson State to Colorado and changed two programs back-to-back, so you don’t think I could come to an NFL franchise and change a program again?” Shedeur Sanders said. “It’s history. We’ve done it again. It’s always gonna repeat itself.”
Sanders had another answer to a question that might’ve ruffled some feathers.

“You think I’m worried about what critics say or what people gotta say?” He said. “You know who my dad is? They hated on him, too. So, it’s almost normal. Without people hating, it’s not normal for us, so we like the adversity. We like everything that comes with the name. That’s why we are who we are.”
