Five-star Alabama Crimson Tide QB commit Keelon Russell left the 2025 Under Armour All-America Game early. Here’s the latest on what happened to the rising star.
Latest Keelon Russell Injury Update
With Team Icon up 22-16 against Team Unstoppable early in the third quarter, Russell delivered a 35-yard strike to 2025 four-star WR Vernell Brown III to set his squad up at the 5-yard line. However, he took a shot from a free rusher on the right side and landed awkwardly.

Russell had jumped just prior to the hit, and as his weight — combined with the defender’s — came down, his right ankle planted and bent inward. He hopped up and jogged gingerly toward the spot of the ball, but after attempting to walk it off, he ultimately called for support and laid down on the field.
Trainers came out and attended to the 6’3″, 185-pound QB before his teammates carried him to the sideline.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Andrew Nemec, Russell told the coaching staff he could return, but there was clearly no reason to risk potential further damage.
