The Dream Center in Los Angeles, California, is a nonprofit that supports underserved communities. Its goal is to improve lives by providing essential services like housing, food, education, and recovery programs. Every week, it serves up to 30 neighborhoods, offering food, clothing, and other resources to those in need.
It may sound like a tough job, but it’s made easier with the help of volunteers. This week, a USC Trojans football team group stepped in to assist. This is nothing new for the program, as they have been actively participating in volunteer activities throughout the offseason. This time, a few familiar faces joined to lend a hand and create smiles.

USC QB Jayden Maiava and Teammates Volunteer at L.A. Nonprofit
USC Trojans quarterback Jayden Maiava and several teammates recently volunteered at the Dream Center in Los Angeles, a charitable organization that provides 24/7 support to struggling individuals and communities.
Both juniors and sophomores rolled up their sleeves to cook and serve meals. They talked to locals, shared laughs, and brought a lot of good vibes with them.
The Trojans’ official Instagram shared some videos and photos showing how their players were helping the community at the Dream Center venue.

They captioned the post, “Bigger than us 🌆 Our guys spent some time at the LA Dream Center, making and providing meals for the community we love.”
The best part of the post is that each of them is enjoying their moment, and some even competed with each other to see who could help more local people.
Maiava, who just transferred from UNLV and threw for 3,085 yards and 17 touchdowns with the Rebels before transferring, made a standout statement that melted everyone’s hearts. The junior starting quarterback said, “I got a lot of smiles. You know, it’s good to see people super grateful for being out here.”
Rookie DL Kamerin Fountain, who is still developing within the program, also expresses very honest feelings. The future USC pass rusher said, “It feels good. It just makes my day better.”
Defensive back Kamari Ramsey, expected to play a big role in USC’s secondary, called it “a different opportunity.” Offensive lineman Tobias Raymond shared that he was giving local people their daily needs, like outdoor pantry items, and helping people who needed food, non-perishable groceries, supplies for their families, and diapers.

Another one of the most heartwarming moments came from edge rusher Brylan Shelby. Everyone remembers how he generated two key pressures in the Las Vegas Bowl. This time, he brought that same energy to the kitchen. With a huge smile on his face, Shelby looked like he was enjoying every minute of preparing bread.
Overall, it was a first-class experience for the Trojans, as evident from their expressions. However, you could hardly count the number of blessings they received by helping those in need.
