Breaking Down the Slate: What to Look For in 2025
Non-Conference Dates
The Trojans start the season at home versus Nicholls, providing an opportunity to set the tone on a positive note. The second non-conference schedule picks up the pace with a trip to Clemson, a perennial ACC power.
Memphis travels to Troy, and Buffalo is visited to round out the non-conference schedule. Both are quality programs that will continue to push the Trojans.
Sun Belt Showdowns
Conference play begins with a home game against South Alabama, always a hot rivalry. Back-to-back trips to Texas State and UL Monroe, both significant in generating momentum in the Sun Belt standings, come next.
Home games versus Louisiana and Arkansas State provide the opportunity to maximize home-field advantage, with a Thursday night game at Old Dominion supplying a unique midweek challenge.
The season concludes with a home game against Georgia State and a road game at Southern Miss.
Can the Trojans Return to Winning?
Parker is entering his second year with a greater understanding of the team’s strengths and weaknesses. The experiences of 2024, even as a non-winning year, are invaluable. The coaches have labored to construct a unit with emphasis on discipline and execution.
The Trojans have seen promising improvement from top players throughout the offseason. The offense overall has shown signs of improvement, with returning starters becoming more confident and newcomers blending into the system nicely. The defense has also been an area of emphasis, with a call to increase consistency and restrict big plays surrendered.
