Quincy Brown’s football journey has had its fair share of twists, and his latest move might be the best yet. The former TCU and Texas State wideout is now headed to Florida Atlantic, and while this one came out of nowhere, it could end up being a sneaky good pickup for the Owls. At 6 feet 4 inches, Brown’s exceptional ability to make tough catches in the red zone could greatly enhance FAU’s passing game.
He was a four-star recruit out of high school and had plenty of hype early on. Things didn’t go as planned; he’s moved around a bit, but the talent’s always been there. Now he’s got a fresh start in Boca Raton, and if he stays healthy and locked in, FAU fans might be looking at one of the more overlooked transfer additions of the offseason.

Former TCU and Texas State Wide Receiver Quincy Brown Commits To FAU
Brown’s commitment to FAU raised some eyebrows. He’d just recently committed to Texas State but didn’t end up playing there. Now, with this new move, he’s adding another chapter to what’s already been a pretty interesting college career. But here’s the thing: he’s got experience, he’s got size, and he knows how to score in tight spaces. That’s a combo FAU’s offense could use.

Back at TCU, Brown made an early splash. As a freshman, he started nine games and pulled 12 catches for 121 yards. Then came a rough break, a season-ending injury cut his sophomore year short. After that, he transferred to Nicholls State, where he caught 54 passes for 606 yards over two seasons and scored five touchdowns.
His time at Texas State was more of a pit stop than a playing opportunity; he never suited up for the Bobcats. Now he’s looking to make a real impact at FAU. With his height, experience, and strong hands, he could be a key player when the Owls are in scoring range.
FAU’s been loading up on veteran transfers to help the offense click, and Brown fits that mold perfectly. He brings leadership, depth, and a big target for whoever’s under center. If things go right, he won’t just be another name on the roster; he could be a key piece of their offensive game plan.
Texas State WR Quincy Brown Makes a Surprise Move
Nobody saw this coming, but now that Brown’s heading to FAU, fans are excited. He’s been through a lot, TCU, Nicholls, Texas State, but all that experience has shaped him into a tougher, more brilliant player. If he finds his groove in Boca, this could be a steal.

Brown’s been around different systems and coaching staffs, and that flexibility could make him super valuable. He’s shown he can adjust on the fly, which should help him pick up FAU’s offense fast and find his place in the rotation.
What stands out is his red-zone presence. 6-4, he’s a problem for defenders near the goal line. That’s an area FAU’s been looking to improve, and Brown could be the guy who finally gives them a reliable threat when the field gets tight.
With the 2025 kickoff date approaching, much attention will be paid to how Brown fits in. His story shows how valuable experienced transfers can be, and FAU might’ve just landed a good one.
