Taylor Fritz’s former girlfriend, Morgan Riddle, recently made her feelings known about her breakup with the tennis star and her controversial announcement of their split with a ‘World’s Best Ex-Girlfriend’ t-shirt.
After dating for a long period of six years, Fritz and Riddle silently ended their relationship. They met in June 2020 on the celebrity dating app Raya and have been seen together ever since. They were tennis’ one of the most prominent couples, and their breakup created a buzz online. Speculations of their split started in April 2026, and the news was finally confirmed by Riddle in a humorous way.
Taking to Instagram, she posted a mirror selfie rather than a traditional statement, where she wore a t-shirt that read ‘World’s Best Ex-Girlfriend’. This garnered a lot of backlash from the fans, who called her post childish. Days after the criticism, the social media influencer recently sat for a conversation with Elle magazine, where she broke her silence on the breakup and addressed the t-shirt move too. Stating that at first she was unsure of how to reveal the breakup, she said:
“When public relationships end, it’s standard to do some sort of Instagram statement or video, and I tried to write that a few times, and I was just like, ‘This is not me,’” said Morgan Riddle.
To make the breakup news ‘lighthearted,’ she ordered the t-shirt on Amazon after reaching Tribeca mainstay The Odeon for lunch and took a selfie in the t-shirt.
“We’re on good terms, so I wanted to make it more lighthearted than breakups usually are online,” she explained.
Taylor Fritz, on the other hand, has not made any public statements about the breakup.

After Taylor Fritz and Morgan Riddle parted ways after a relationship of six years, the celebrity gossip brand online, DeuxMoi, asserted that Riddle moved to New York City for a man in finance following her breakup. Addressing this fake news in her conversation with Elle, the model and influencer said that she found it ‘funny’ and was going to play off of that.
“I’m really glad they went with that because it’s so funny. I think I’m going to start playing off of that,’ said Riddle.
While Morgan Riddle has shifted to New York City after the breakup and has been spending time with her girlfriends and focusing on her clothing brand, Taylor Fritz recently suffered an early loss at the French Open and is currently gearing up for competing in the round of 16 of the Stuttgart Open against Martin Landaluce.
