    Coco Gauff, Bianca Andreescu & Eva Lys Share Their Love For Alexandra Eala After Birmingham Open Title Triumph

    World No. 37 and Filipina sensation Alexandra Eala has won her second career WTA 125 title at the Birmingham Open after beating the fifth-seeded Nikola Bartůnková in 2 hours and 38 minutes. The 21-year-old Eala came in as the top-seeded player and dropped just two sets during the entire tournament. Fans and players alike have sent hearty wishes to the new champion, including high-profile tennis stars Coco Gauff, Bianca Andreescu, and Eva Lys, who have taken to social media to celebrate the win.

    The Lexus Birmingham Open witnessed a thrilling week of women’s singles and doubles action, and it all came down to a final showdown between Alexandra Eala and Nikola Bartůnková. Eala proved her versatility on the grass courts and beat Bartůnková 5-7, 6-3, 7-5.

    It was all celebrations for Eala, as the Filipina star could not have been prouder of her victory on the lawns of Birmingham. After the match, Eala remained grounded in her response when acknowledging her win, saying:

    “I am so honored to be lifting this trophy today. Lifting this trophy does not mean that I will be among the greats yet, so I’m motivated to keep working, and I’m grateful for the part that this trophy has played in my journey.”

    She further got warm responses to her victory on Instagram, particularly from fellow tennis players, including Coco Gauff, Bianca Andreescu, and Eva Lys. Gauff expressed high-octane energy, writing:

    “🔥🔥🔥”

    Bianca Andreescu wrote:

    “Bravooooooo.”

    While Eva Lys wrote jokingly:

    “when i grow up i wanna be like you.”

     

     

    Eala will next be seen playing at the Queen’s Club Championships, beginning this week.

    Alexandra Eala Talks About Her Admiration of Maria Sharapova

    Alexandra Eala has been hailed as the leading talent from the Philippines, who is expected to take her tennis game to unprecedented levels. With regards to inspirations, Eala spoke about admiring Maria Sharapova’s relentless drive to win, her fiery persona on the court, and much more:

    “Internationally, I looked up a lot to Maria Sharapova. When I was younger, I didn’t really understand what was going on in the game. I liked that she was fiery, I liked that she was aggressive, and of course, she presents herself very well. I felt like she always had nice outfits, so she inspired me a lot.”

    Eala had met Sharapova at a very young age and had also garnered appreciation from the five-time Grand Slam champion, who hailed Eala as one of the most promising rising stars of today’s generation.
