Fancy Boston College as the best bang for your betting buck? Is Syracuse a safe bet for Friday night? If you’re going to take advantage of the Syracuse vs. Boston College odds, consider some of the following factors before you part with your hard-earned cash.

While they’re having a tough time at the moment, Syracuse comes into this Friday night matchup as the oddsmakers’ favorite. The Orange are actually riding a winning streak in the head-to-head with Boston College, beating the Eagles in 2021 and 2022 while holding a 33-22 advantage against their long-standing rival. Will their historical or current streak continue?

As we’ll unpack in our Syracuse vs. Boston College prediction, we’re leaning towards the Eagles upsetting the odds. In doing so, we’d expect them to cover the spread too. The Orange haven’t covered the spread since their Week 3 win over Purdue and are 3-5 against the spread this year. Boston College is 3-1 covering the spread as the underdog.

Boston College’s defense has been suspect at times this season, which could lead to the game covering the 51-point line being a bet to consider. However, Syracuse’s offensive struggles could prevent it this Friday night matchup from ever getting close to the line. The Orange have only been involved in two games that covered the line so far this season.

There are two college football games on Friday to compile your DFS team from in Week 10. If you’re new to DFS, Fanduel Superflex contests require you to select a quarterback, two running backs, three wide receivers, and a “superflex” that can be any of the above. Or you can also select a tight end for the Superflex spot.

There’s a very easy decision to take in this Friday night slate, so let’s start your Syracuse vs. Boston College picks right there. There are few quarterbacks in college football on a hotter streak than Eagles standout Thomas Castellanos. The former UCF dual-threat has asserted his dominance in the last four games and is the fantasy QB3 in the ACC due to his athletic tendencies.

Castellanos isn’t the only rushing threat for Boston College in this clash. Kye Robichaux has come into form in recent weeks and currently sits as the RB8 in the ACC with 94.1 points. He’s rushed for 100+ yards and two touchdowns in each of the last two games. Syracuse allowed over 100 rushing yards last time out in defeat to Virginia Tech.

LeQuint Allen is in patchy form right now but could enjoy a return to his early-season prowess against a porous Boston College run defense. He’s a consideration for your DFS RB2, as is Wyoming’s Harrison Waylee. Syracuse’s passing game doesn’t feature one go-to target, which isn’t ideal for fantasy purposes, but Boston College’s lead WR Lewis Bond should prove alluring.

Prediction for Syracuse vs. Boston College

Okay, so we’ve furnished you with the Syracuse vs. Boston College odds and some DFS picks. Can the Orange overcome their current slide into the depths of the ACC with a win over their long-running rival? Or can Boston College continue their climb from the bottom of the conference as they chase bowl eligibility on Friday night?

Syracuse started the season with great promise, sweeping aside their early opposition in comfortable fashion. However, after taking a ton of hits, quarterback Garrett Shrader seemed to have lost some of his dynamic playmaking ability that was the cornerstone of their early season success.

He threw his first touchdown in three games against Virginia Tech, but the offensive line allowed him to be sacked an unholy number of times in the loss to the Hokies. Boston College doesn’t possess the same level of threat from a pass rush perspective as Virginia Tech, allowing Shrader some freedom to perhaps find some form a turnaround Syracuse’s season.

While Boston College’s defensive deficiencies might give the Orange some hope, the Eagles have a secret weapon to expose some of Syracuse’s own shortcomings. Drake Maye and Jordan Travis (twice) both found the end zone in wins over Dino Babers’ team, while Kyron Drones rushed for over 50 yards.

A dynamic dual-threat can be their Kryptonite, which is exactly what BC has.

Prediction: Syracuse 17, Boston College 23
