Raiders Hold No. 6 Overall Pick in 2025

in the article 2025, NFL draft: Latest buzz, best fits, intel on top picks, Jordan Reid, Matt Miller, and Field Yates recently shared their opinions in an ESPN article speculating on how the Tennesee Titans might use their first overall selection and where Sanders might go after number one.

The Raiders pick sixth in round one, and based on Reid’s comments, Sanders is likely to go higher than that.

“Based on what I’m hearing, the Jets’ No. 7 pick is still the floor for Sanders,” Reid said. “There are plenty of landing spots before that point, as the Browns (No. 2) and the Giants (No. 3) are desperate for long-term answers under center.”

Veterans like Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson are also available as options for teams.

“Many view Ward as the clear-cut best option, and some have told me they’d be apprehensive about taking Sanders with a top-10 pick,” Yates said. “But yes, several sources told me Sanders has a real shot to be a top-three selection.”

Sanders is the strong QB2 behind Ward and won’t fall out of the top 10-15 picks.

Daniel Jeremiah’s mock draft in January does give Sanders some hope of realizing his dream of going to the Raiders.

“Tom Brady, now a partner in the Raiders’ ownership, would appreciate Sanders’ toughness, accuracy and decision-making,” Jeremiah wrote.

Is Tennessee Still Drafting No. 1?

“I’ve often heard that front office executives aren’t entirely convinced on this quarterback class,” Miller said. “That might be the case in Tennessee. As I listen to it, nothing is settled with the Titans, even though they didn’t sign a veteran quarterback for free agency.”

Both Ward and Sanders are available, but the Titans could trade their pick or take Travis Hunter, the two-way star who plays receiver and cornerback, or Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter, who could anchor their defense for years.

Tennessee was aggressively shopping the No. 1 pick, but that sentiment has cooled off a bit,” Reid said. “Now signs are trending toward the Titans drafting Ward at the top of the draft, and many sources around the league are preparing for that outcome.”

Reid also noted that the Titans have added left tackle Dan Moore Jr. and guard Kevin Zeitler while keeping quarterback Will Levis.

Ward will throw at the Pro Day held by the Hurricanes in anticipation of the draft next month.
