‘STFU’ — Shedeur Sanders ‘100% Bust’ Label Has Browns Fans Going Nuclear on Ex-Jets Scout

In the 2025 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns selected Shedeur Sanders with their 144th overall pick in the fifth round. Sanders had quite the slide in this year’s draft, predicted to go early in the first round. Even the latest mock drafts before the official start of the draft saw Sanders getting picked in the very early 20s.

Now, he’s got the entire NFL world talking, some in support of him, and some in opposition to him. However, he’s focused on winning the starting job in Cleveland, which he will have to beat out Kenny Pickett, Super Bowl winner Joe Flacco, and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel to win it. Now, this ex-New York Jets scout is chiming in.

Scout Calls Shedeur Sanders a Lock To Bust, and Browns Fans Set the Internet on Fire

A bold attack on Sanders from ex-Jets scout Daniel Kelly sparks a furious online revolt from Browns Nation. Kelly called Sanders a “100% Bust,” which drew out some furious members of Browns Nation who fired back in support of their potential QB1.

One Twitter user replied, “The success rate for fifth-round draft picks getting a second contract on the team that drafted them is something like 10% right now. Not a big leap to think that fifth-round pick might be a bust. 90% of them are.”

While some used GIFs and videos to poke fun at Kelly, others weren’t as nice. Another Twitter user wrote, “You had Spencer Rattler as your number 1 QB bro. They literally drafted a QB the very next draft. That kind of kills your credibility. Dudes not even gonna be in the league 3 years later.”

The common consensus amongst many fans who fired back at Kelly saw them saying that how can someone in the fifth round even be classified as a “bust.” This is a great point, as expectations for players drafted in the fifth round are certainly nowhere close to expectations of those drafted in the first or second.

Nonetheless, Kelly stands by his comments. In Kelly’s eyes, Sanders is indeed a “100% Bust.”

“Colorado’s offensive system was ONE BIG MANIPULATION designed to highlight Sanders’ strengths and stat pad against middling college defenders,” Kelly writes.

The word bust gets thrown around quite often these days. However, is it fair to say someone is a bust without them even getting to step on the field yet?
