As is the annual tradition, the SEC leads conversations entering the 2024 college football season, and for good reason. Seven teams head into the near year with a win total of 9.5 or higher, and Texas and Oklahoma, two of the Big 12’s best programs, are joining the fray.

Were it not for the Longhorns, the Bulldogs would sit alone atop the conference. Carson Beck returns, and despite the departures of several offensive starters, including first-rounders TE Brock Bowers and OT Amarius Mims, Georgia has the talent to replenish.
Steve Sarkisian and Texas proved they were back last season, making the College Football Playoff. That task will be easier with a new 12-team format, but playing in the SEC mitigates that advantage. Still, the Longhorns have the offensive talent to produce fireworks, with QB Quinn Ewers, RB CJ Baxter, WR Isaiah Bond, and OT Kelvin Banks Jr. highlighting the unit.

Vanderbilt, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Alabama, and Florida feature in our top 10 2024 hardest schedules, with the Gators taking the No. 1 spot. The Gators are an interesting team as their win totals sit at 5.5, above only Vanderbilt and Mississippi State in the conference.
Florida holds itself to a high standard, rightfully so, and another six-or-fewer-win season will turn the heat under head coach Billy Napier’s seat to a scalding level — if not completely incinerate his time in Gainsville.
