Carson Beck, Malaki Starks Headline Georgia Bulldogs Set to Appear at SEC Media Days

The Georgia Bulldogs are heading to Dallas for SEC Media Days, but which players will be talking with the media this week?

The entire Southeastern Conference is descending on Dallas this week for the official start of talking season, otherwise known as SEC Media Days. It’s an expanded group this year, and the Georgia Bulldogs, under the direction of Kirby Smart, are aiming to maintain their standing as the team to beat at the head of the field (despite losing to Alabama in the title game last fall).

Talking season requires student-athletes to answer questions from the media masses ahead of the college football season. Who will be representing Georgia as the eyes and ears of national attention turn towards the Bulldogs this week?

Which Georgia Players Are Attending SEC Media Days?

It’s an almost unwritten rule of college football media days that a program will take their starting QB to address the reporters — unless that team doesn’t have an established starter. No such problem for Georgia, who will take Carson Beck to Dallas as he looks to establish himself as the best quarterback in college football and bring the Heisman Trophy to Athen this fall.

Joining Beck in Dallas will be a pair of defensive studs. First up, Mykel Williams enters his third season with the Bulldogs as the expected next dominant edge player in the country. In his first two years with the program, Williams has tallied 13.0 tackles for loss and nine sacks. The true junior has the talent to match his career production in just one season as the leader off the edge.

Finally, Georgia brings highly regarded defensive back Malaki Starks to Dallas. Another true junior, Starks earned All-American honors across the board last fall after tallying three interceptions and seven pass breakups. Dig beneath the numbers, as impressive as they are, and you’ll find a playmaker capable of leaving you speechless with his antics at the catch point.
