The SEC Championship Game sets the stage for a monumental rematch at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, as the Texas Longhorns face the Georgia Bulldogs in a clash of titans. Both teams harbor College Football Playoff National Championship aspirations, making this showdown all the more compelling.
Texas has enjoyed its finest regular season in years, marred only by a 30-15 defeat to the Bulldogs earlier in the year. With redemption on the line, the Longhorns return for another shot at Georgia in the SEC’s ultimate spotlight. Here are all the spreads, odds, and player props for the SEC Championship Game.
SEC Championship Game Odds: Main Markets
- Spread
Texas -2.5 - Moneyline
Georgia +125, Texas -135 - Over/Under
49.5
In their first meeting in Austin, the Longhorns entered undefeated as a 4.5-point home favorite. Now, they will meet on a “neutral” site in the heart of Georgia for the rematch.
The Longhorns originally opened as a 1.5-point favorite in the SEC Championship Game, but that number has steadily climbed to -2.5, briefly touching three before coming back down by half a point.
The total has been pretty sharp from the opening number and has only fluctuated between 49 and 49.5. This number will unlikely see any drastic changes before Saturday’s kickoff.
SEC Championship Game Odds: Anytime Touchdown Scorer
- Quintrevion Wisner (Texas): -180
- Nate Frazier (Georgia): -150
- Trevor Etienne (Georgia): -120
- Gunnar Helm (Texas): +145
- Matthew Golden (Texas): +160
- Jaydon Blue (Texas): +175
- Jerrick Gibson (Texas): +175
- Isaiah Bond (Texas): +170
- Dominic Lovett (Georgia): +200
In the SEC title game, Quintrevion Wisner enters with the highest odds for an anytime touchdown scorer. While he only has three rushing touchdowns and one receiving score, Wisner is fresh off back-to-back games with over 150 rushing yards. They are the only two of the season where he logged 25+ touches, but it appears he has emerged as Texas’ bell-cow over Jaydon Blue and Jerrick Gibson.
If you’re looking for the hot hand, look no further than Nate Frazier. The Bulldogs’ RB has scored in each of his last five games dating back to Nov. 2 against Florida. In those five games, Frazier has reached paydirt seven times, including a three-touchdown explosion against UMass.
SEC Championship Game Odds: Quarterback Props
- Carson Beck Passing Yards: 244.5
- Quinn Ewers Passing Yards: 233.5
- Carson Beck Passing Touchdowns: 1.5
- Quinn Ewers Passing Touchdowns: 1.5
Beck has been hitting his stride lately. He has surpassed these passing-yardage and passing-touchdown totals in each of his last three games.
But despite Georgia coming away with a 30-15 victory in their first meeting with Texas, Beck was downright bad against the Longhorns in their first meeting. He finished with just 175 yards passing and three interceptions with no passing touchdowns. Expect him to have a significant bounce back in the rematch.
Ewers has been solid for Texas lately but has failed to pass this passing-yards total in his last three games and four of his previous six. Though he hasn’t necessarily been racking up passing yards, he has been throwing for quite a few touchdowns. He’s thrown for two or more in all but two of the games he’s played in 2024.
SEC Championship Game Odds: Receiving Props
- Arian Smith (Georgia): 40.5 (-105)
- Dillon Bell (Georgia): 40.5 (-105)
- Dominic Lovett (Georgia): 50.5 (-120)
- Gunnar Helm (Texas): 50.5 (-110)
- Isaiah Bond (Texas): 40.5 (-105)
Isaiah Bond got off to a hot start in 2024, surpassing this total in his first five games. However, the Georgia native has fallen off in production a bit lately, capped off with a no-catch outing last weekend against Texas A&M.
It’s hard to trust any of the Texas pass catchers right now, with the Longhorns having really emphasized the run game in recent weeks.
Arian Smith had a horrid case of the drops against in-state rival Georgia Tech, dropping five total passes, including two in the end zone, but he does lead the Dawgs in receiving yards.
The play here looks like it has to be Dominic Lovett. Though he’s only gone over this total in five of the Bulldogs’ 12 games this season, he has emerged as one of Beck’s favorite targets and leads Georgia in receptions with 53. He will get his looks on Saturday, and with his breakaway speed, it just takes Lovett popping one to hit this total.
SEC Championship Game Odds: Rushing Props
- Nate Frazier (Georgia): 61.5 (-125)
- Jaydon Blue (Texas): 39.5 (-105)
- Quintrevion Wisner (Texas): 90.5 (+115)
Wisner’s 90.5 yards look like excellent value coming into the SEC Championship Game. The Longhorns have recently made him the focal point of their offense and are pushing him to get 20+ carries.
In his last two games, Wisner has paced Texas in carries with 26 and 33, resulting in rushing yards of 158 and 186, respectively. Despite his success on the ground, however, Wisner has only scored one rushing touchdown in the last two games. This makes the rushing-yardage prop for him jump as opposed to targeting him for an anytime TD play.
