Seahawks Set to Shock NFL Draft World, Target Quinn Ewers on Day 2?

The Seattle Seahawks have several early draft picks, and NFL expert Matt Miller thinks they might surprise everyone by selecting Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Matt Miller, a renowned ESPN NFL draft expert, assumes that the Seattle Seahawks will go with one of the emerging stars, a new quarterback, for the upcoming draft pick.

He has shown interest in the profile of Texas quarterback Ewers.

In a recent interview with ESPN, they asked a tricky question, and the question was:

Who’s that unexpected team that will pick a quarterback in the first two rounds? Without hesitation, Miller stated that the Seahawks would be the team we needed to pay attention to because they could be the ones going for it.

“I’d keep an eye on Texas’ Ewers on Day 2 when Seattle has four total selections,” Miller said.

Moreover, Miller also predicted that Seattle might have the 18th overall pick, but it’s just a thought. He added that it’s too early to say that they will go with Ewers for their draft pick.

Furthermore, they have two pick options in the second round (50 and 52) and two in the third round (82 and 92).

Also, they got an extra second-round pick from trading wide receiver D.K. Metcalf with the Pittsburgh Steelers. On top of that, they also got an additional third-round pick by passing quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Despite all the assumptions, Miller added that signing Sam Darnold doesn’t guarantee that the Seahawks won’t go for the draft of a quarterback.

Darnold got around three years with them, and the deal was estimated at around $100.5 million.

Even though Seattle can quit this deal after one year with a minimum penalty, that will be around a one-year, $37.5 million contract with him.

“There’s a chance he doesn’t maintain the level of success he had in 2024 now that he doesn’t have Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell calling the plays and a great receiver duo supporting him,” Miller added.

Quinn Ewers 2025 NFL Draft Stock: Expected Mid-Round Selection

Ewers is not getting enough views to be considered an estimated prospect for the quarterback of the current year’s NFL draft pick.

Even though he was known for being a top recruit since 2022, sadly, he never met expectations.

He began his college career at Ohio State, supporting C.J. Stroud before being transferred to Texas, where he started playing quarterback.

Despite this, he was sidelined every season due to injuries.

Finally, Ewers is now anticipated to be a mid-round pick for the 2025 NFL Draft, and it has already been hinted that the Seahawks could be the next team for him to venture into, as they are showing interest in picking him for the season.
