The LSU Tigers have undergone significant changes this week. Following the team’s 49-25 loss to No. 3-ranked Texas A&M on Saturday, head coach Brian Kelly was fired on Sunday. It was the team’s third loss in four games. There were then rumors about athletic director Scott Woodward’s job status following comments made by Governor Jeff Landry.
Landry got on a mic and told reporters that Woodward would not hire the Tigers’ next head coach. Ryan Clark spoke about this on Thursday morning. He criticized Landry for his involvement at LSU, saying it was the second dumbest thing Landry had said that week, saying the only thing dumber was his suggestion that LSU should build a Charlie Kirk statue.

“Second most ridiculous thing he said this week. The first was standing on campus and saying he wanted to put a statue of somebody (Charlie Kirk) that doesn’t represent the people of Louisiana” pic.twitter.com/vbLmKU1AlF

“Kirk speaks for the vast majority of people from Louisiana,” one fan added.
Fans continued to react in the comments.
“Why is Ryan Clark still on TV?” one fan wrote.
“Ironic that the crux of his take is that people who aren’t qualified to give opinions should stay in their lanes…” one fan commented.
“Rare W from Ryan,” one fan added.

Scott Woodward Was Fired by LSU Shortly After Governor Jeff Landry’s Comments
It did not take long for Governor Jeff Landry’s comments to have an effect. Landry spoke on Wednesday about LSU’s coaching search.
“No, I can tell you right now Scott Woodward is not selecting our next coach,” Jeff Landry said.
While these comments frustrated analysts like Ryan Clark, they had a nearly immediate impact.
On Thursday night, LSU announced that it had parted ways with athletic director Scott Woodward. He had been the school’s AD since 2019. It is not clear whether LSU was going to make this decision independently or if Landry’s comments pushed them towards firing Woodward.
