The Alabama Crimson Tide’s quarterback room is looking brighter than ever with its latest addition, Keelon Russell. With the quarterback prospect now in Tuscaloosa, no one is more excited than Russell’s mother, April Moore. The five-star quarterback enrolled early at Alabama, where he has already begun practicing with the team.
However, Moore has no doubts about the program’s support for her son. She took to social media recently to express her complete satisfaction with how things are going in Tuscaloosa under second-year head coach Kalen DeBoer.

Keelon Russell’s Mom Shows Full Confidence in Alabama
Keelon Russell is a top-ranked quarterback in the 2025 class who joined Alabama earlier than most recruits, getting a head start on his college football journey. The highly competitive and challenging SEC could be a lot for any freshman, but according to his mother, the Crimson Tide have made the transition quite seamless.
When I say I am 100% pleased with @AlabamaFTBL @UA_Athletics and the university period. The communication, the scheduling, tutoring, and the embrace @Pres1dential has received has been outstanding. Thank you for leveling up and keeping these men together. Let’s keep it rolling.

That level of approval says a lot about head coach Kalen DeBoer and his staff. Their handling of incoming recruits, especially at a crucial position like quarterback, is already winning over families.
Even though it must be quite emotional for Russell’s family to send their child to compete on such a massive and overwhelming stage, knowing that ‘Bama’s staff is providing a strong support system allows family members to breathe easier.
The fans have high expectations for Russell, who is ranked as the second-best quarterback and overall prospect in the 2025 class by 247Sports Composite. He chose Alabama over offers from top programs like SMU, Florida, Oregon, and UCLA.

The Crimson Tide’s quarterback battle remains open, and with spring practices around the corner, Russell has an early opportunity to prove himself.
If his mother’s confidence in the program is any indication, the quarterback is in the perfect place to develop into a future star.
