The transfer portal market has been active since it re-opened on April 15. With a week remaining before it closes, the College Football Network is taking readers through all the quarterbacks who have entered the portal, including those who have already made their decisions.

Quarterbacks In the Transfer Portal

According to the latest count, over 170 quarterbacks have entered the portal since September of last year. Of that group, just over 100 athletes have committed to another team.

So who is left, and can we expect any of them to make a significant impact in 2023? As per the College Football Network Transfer Portal Tracker, 52 quarterbacks remain in the portal:

With many names still available, a few rise to the top of the list for any team needing depth or a replacement at the position. Former starters Chance Nolan, Hayden Wolff, Ben Finley, Ben Bryant, and TJ McMahon are certainly among the top names. Nolan, a multi-year starter at Oregon State, is rumored to be drawing interest from SEC teams. Bryant, Finley, and McMahon have each shown they can be reliable options and entered the portal in the second window this spring.

But the name that takes the top spot, which many may not reference, is Wolff. A massive signal-caller who stands at 6’5″ and weighs 235 pounds, Wolff threw for nearly 3,000 yards at Old Dominion last year. He’s a great processor and a terrific pocket passer when given time. His name in the portal certainly mixes things up and changes plans for some programs, perhaps unsatisfied with their quarterback room after spring.

With the massive number of names in the portal currently, it’s also important to take a look at where the quarterbacks who have changed schools are currently slated to play in 2023.
