Mahomes was truly special in the three years he quarterbacked for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He had 11,252 yards, 92 touchdowns, and 29 interceptions in his career with Texas Tech. In his final season, he went ballistic, throwing for 5,052 yards, 41 TDs, and 10 INTs.

If Mahomes wins the Super Bowl MVP, Texas Tech will be the first college to ever have a player win the Super Bowl MVP three consecutive times.
Not only that, but with a Mahomes Super Bowl MVP, Texas Tech will also move to second place all-time in Super Bowl MVPs. Finally, if Mahomes wins the award on Sunday, he would move into sole possession of second place all-time for the award, only behind Tom Brady.

Mahomes has the chance to skyrocket Texas Tech up some passing leaderboards with a good performance on Sunday.
If Mahomes throws for 85 or more yards on Sunday, Texas Tech will move past Northern Iowa for all-time Super Bowl passing yards and become fourth in that metric in Super Bowl history.
Mahomes can also make Texas Tech fourth on the all-time Super Bowl passing TDs list with one passing TD on Sunday. Funnily enough, that would push the Red Raiders past Navy to move into fourth all-time.

There are some other marks for Mahomes to accomplish for himself and Texas Tech on Sunday. If he runs for more rushing TDs than Saquon Barkley, Texas Tech would pass Penn State and become the sole leader for rushing TDs in Super Bowl history.
With 32 rushing yards, Mahomes would become Texas Tech’s leading Super Bowl rusher, passing Timmy Smith, who ran for 202 yards in Super Bowl 22.
Lastly, if Mahomes ran for 86 yards on Sunday, Texas Tech would have the most rushing yards in Super Bowl history, passing USC.
